The Global Ministerial Dialogue and Signing Ceremony of the Global Alliance of Green Economy is a significant event aimed at bringing together countries interested in transitioning to a green economy. The event will provide a platform for countries to share knowledge, technical and technological assistance, and best practices on how to build their capacities to achieve a sustainable future.

The event will take place in June and will be hosted by the World Green Economy Organization. It will bring together Ministers, high-level government officials, private sector representatives, civil society organizations, and international development partners from around the world.

Objectives


Engaging with countries to identify their needs, priorities, and challenges in the context of the green economy.

Address pressing issues and identify possible solutions available and accessible at the state level and leading us towards real change

Panel Discussion 1 – Global Alliance on Green Economy: Need for “whole of society” engagement

Besides governments, there is an instrumental role for non-state stakeholders (private sector, academic and financial institutions) to facilitate the implementation of 1.5 aligned transformative actions to achieve green economy and sustainable development. The objective of this session is to gather insights from the distinguished speakers on best practices and lessons learnt to ensure results-oriented and fast-tracked implementation of the Paris Agreement.

Cities are drivers of change and innovation and can make a critical contribution to the facilitation of the transition towards a green economy. This panel discussion aims to brings together entities operating within city jurisdictions to facilitate the advancement of optimally designed cities that are built around the fundamental tenet of enhancing resource efficiency while ensuring economic and social opportunity.
